Team Expansion
This summer, we welcomed Brian Cabanban (Head of Development) and Latasha Buxton (Program Associate) to the team. Brian is leading our fundraising and corporate development, while Latasha is supporting everything from program implementation to tutor engagement to helping us execute corporate engagement efforts.
With Brian and Latasha joining Elisabeth Renikoff (Head of Programming) to expand our fundraising and programming, our full-time staff of three now represents 30+ years of experience in education, finance, and nonprofit leadership, fueling FGI’s momentum to scale nationally.
Summer Recap: Professional Curriculum Refinement & More Workshops
FGI partnered with Harvard Graduate School of Education and William Blair to work with our tutors, teachers, and students to further refine our curriculum and training. Special thanks to these collaborators for helping us create an even more engaging and effective learning experience!
We also ran financial literacy workshops across the country for students and educators, including:

The Second FGI Annual Benefit
Our biggest night of the year is coming up this October! The FGI Fall Benefit brings together changemakers, professionals, and education champions to support the next generation of investors.
The event’s speakers include Jeff Smith (Starboard Value) and Marc Morial (National Urban League), whose respective organizations are among the event's sponsors.
We’ll be sharing soon how you can be part of the celebration, even if you can’t be in the room.
