From celebrating with our community at the Annual Benefit to seeing students present their Capstone Projects and deepening support for our tutor community, this is a season of real momentum.

Annual Benefit Recap
On October 23, we gathered with students, supporters, and partners for our Annual Benefit, a celebration of our mission and the community behind it.
Together, we raised over $159,00 to support our work. The evening featured moving remarks from FGI alumnus Brian Huynh, as well as Marc Morial, Jeff Smith, and Paul Germain.
Thanks to your support, we’re entering the Giving Season ready to reach even more students.
Program Highlights: Mentorship in Motion
From classroom learning to career exploration and community building, FGI tutors and students have been fully engaged this fall, and the results are already showing.
Capstone Presentations Are Underway
Across the country, high school students in the FGI program have begun delivering their final Capstone Presentations. These presentations highlight what students have learned about investing, financial literacy, and their personal goals. As part of the Capstone Project, each student builds a real investment portfolio with $100 in seed funding from FGI, putting their knowledge into action. More Capstone events will take place throughout November as we celebrate the culmination of a successful semester.
Career Development Events
This fall, FGI tutors took part in two virtual professional development sessions:
- An Internship Info Session with Capstone LLC
- A Career Workshop Session with Dynamics Search Partners
These sessions offered practical insights into career paths and helped tutors build skills that will serve them beyond the classroom.
Tutor Mixer in Charlotte
In October, Global Endowment Management (GEM) hosted a Tutor Mixer over bowling for FGI tutors from Queens University of Charlotte, UNC Charlotte, and Johnson C. Smith University. The event fostered meaningful connections among tutors and celebrated the strong partnerships that support our work in the region.
We are incredibly grateful to Global Endowment Management, Capstone LLC, and Dynamics Search Partners for supporting our tutors’ growth, and to all our volunteers who make the FGI mission possible.
FGI at the Bogleheads Conference
In October, FGI co-founders Cole Mattox and Dylan Ingerman spoke at the 2025 Bogleheads Conference, a national gathering of financial literacy advocates, educators, and investors.
As part of the “Causes We Love: Turning Students into Investors” panel alongside author Mike Piper, they shared how FGI equips high school students with the tools and confidence to build real investment portfolios and shape their financial futures.
This opportunity reflects FGI’s growing presence as a leader in youth financial education.
Get Ready for GivingTuesday
On Tuesday, December 2, we’ll join organizations around the world to celebrate GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity and shared impact.
This year, we’re inviting our community to help expand our reach to even more students so that every young person has the tools to understand investing, make confident decisions, and plan for the future.
