Over the past few weeks, our team has been onboarding a new group of tutors ahead of the semester, pairing them with the training and program materials they need to support students well from day one. That work culminates today, as students and tutors meet for their first sessions of the fall. It's the moment the rest of the semester builds on, and we're glad to have you along for it.
Team FGI Spotlight: David Harris Runs the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon for FGI
Six weeks out from the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, Team FGI keeps rolling. Next up in our Team FGI series: David Harris, who is lacing up for his first marathon this November.
David first learned about FGI in college, watching his friend and FGI co-founder Alex Ingerman's passion for the organization grow over the years. A high school teacher sparked his interest in economics, statistics, and the markets, and as the first person in his family to go into finance, David knows firsthand how it feels for financial literacy to seem daunting, and why making those skills more accessible matters to him.
Fundraising has gone better than he expected. Friends, family, and colleagues at Schonfeld have stepped up, including some who used the company's matching gift program to double their impact. His fiancée, a 2023 NYC Marathon finisher, hosted a fundraising barbecue this summer to rally their community.
With training in full swing, David's goal is a sub-4-hour finish, but he's quick to say the real win is soaking in the day, the crowds, and the people cheering him on.
